Dani wants breakfast

This morning I was on the computer looking up coupons. Trying to be frugal and all, when Dani decided she wanted breakfast RIGHT NOW!!! I told her just a minute and then she proceeded to count down!!! She stared at 10 and then counted down. When she got to 2 she kept saying 2...2....2....2 and got louder and louder. I of course ignored her,then she started to say ONE. It went like this "wwwuuuu" "wwwuuu" "wwwwuuunnn" I just kept looking at the computer interested in what would happen if my 4 year old ever got to one. She got mad and huffed and left. I'm pretty sure she'll be back any moment to count down again. YEAH!!!

Curtain Call -

So after quite a bit of drama and "issues" (no running car) I got to Salt Lake yesterday to see Wicked. I was happy to get there and VERY happy my brother Caleb got to come too. I don't think he was all that excited and really didn't know what to expect. But by the end he admits it was good and he liked it. And boy was he right. It was sooooo great. The set was amazing, the actors incredibly talented and the story and music moving.

What did you do for Family Home Evening?

For Easter our kids got a Wii - Now before I hear gasps of shock and comments on spoiled kids...we got a really good deal and I REALLY WANTED ONE. Anyway I've been sick the last few days and the kids really wanted to play Wii. I told them when dad got home from work they could play. So after dinner we got out Wii sports. So what is this video you're watching? Well it's my two youngest boxing. Yep for family night we let our kids beat each other up!! It was pretty fun to watch and they loved it. I love the Wii because it tires the kids out. Let them play for an hour or so before bed and they went right to sleep. I highly recommend one as a tool to exhaust your children...totally worth it. We also got Wii Fit and had a great time Sunday when Ben's brother and sister-in-law came up. We just sat around and watched Ben do all the exercises. It was a blast. I have to say one of my favorites was watching Ben hoola hoop. Yep it was fun!!

Easter Fun!!!

This morning was the annual Manila Easter Egg Hunt!!!! And it was fun - the kids go to their assigned age group and wait to start. This year Zach and Jordynn were together, and Dani and Michaela were in their own group. There were a TON of eggs and some of them said prize. If you got one of those eggs you got to get a prize. Dani got 3, Zach and Jordynn got 1 and Michaela got none. She was a little disappointed but I reminded her that Easter was tomorrow and she might get something fun from the Easter bunny.

Please notice in the picture Jordynn is wearing glasses. After many many and again I say many tears, she's wearing them. She's decided she looks good and it's nice to be able to see. When all is said and done I think they had a fun time. Even though Zach said "This Easter hunt was too easy. All the eggs were just out there, I didn't have to look!!" I told him that tomorrow we'll make sure the egg hunt is VERY hard. That seemed to cheer him up. Funny boy!!!

Spring!!! Maybe????

We think it MIGHT be spring. But the 8" of snow in Saturday made me think maybe not. So we sit and debate. In the mean time my 5 year old boy decided he was done with training wheels. He took his bike to Ben and told him to take them off. Ben was working on something so he handed some tools to Zach (5 years old) and told him to go at it. And he did great!! He got the training wheels off and then took off riding. He needed a little help from Ben for a minute but then...he was off. He loves it and got really irritated when the snow hit that meant no riding for a few days. Now the snow is melting and we have HUGE piles of mud. Lots and lots of mud!!!

Another sign of spring is baby chicks right? So we decided to usher in spring with our own baby chicks. We've had chickens for years and really like it. We have 2 right now but they are almost 3 which in chicken years means they are probably done laying. We got 4 babies for this year and they're doing great. In case you're wondering they are in a fish tank in our kitchen. It's still tooooooo cold for them to be outside so here they are.

Don't worry soon they'll be outside pecking around the yard. In the mean time they sure are cute!!!

Happy April Fools

So I'm a little irritated with the Disney Channel. I know that most people gasp at such an confession. But for the last 3 weeks they have been airing little bits in between the shows about April Fools. It's been ideas for how to play pranks on your family. Now don't get me wrong I like a practical joke as much as the next guy. But every time there was one on Michaela was so excited she took notes. So this morning we had to endure all the breakfast bars in the wrong box. Thankfully we were running a little late and that's as far as she got.
Thank you Disney Channel for giving my 9 year old a reason to torture the rest of the family today.
