Busy, Busy, Busy oh and BUSY!!

What the play kids got me- so sweet

Colter - my light guy ready for the lake (like the boots?)

The cast decided to go jump in the lake (literally) it was COLD!! I did NOT go!!!

Play Cast Party!! Weird Girls!!!
The last week of school was a ZOO!! The elementary had a field trip EVERY day the whole last week. My poor little kids were worn out!! Then there was a play cast party, High School awards night, elementary awards, graduation and finally summer. My kids have already
asked for friends over, go to the KOA to swim and go to the lake. We've been out of school for 2 days!! I had to slow them down a bit.
We put down gravel on the driveway on Tuesday so we didn't have mud all over. It was a fun family time where the kids complained the whole time and had to go to the bathroom a surprising amount of times. We also got the bikes out and ready for summer. Ben got Dani Michaela's old bike ready and she's doing good!!
Here's what Zach's teacher had to say about him at the awards ceremony...FUNNY!!!!

Shoveling gravel for the driveway

Spreading it all out

Getting Dani's bike ready!!!

What Happened??

Yesterday we went to go get the horses (3 of them) out of the field they've been in all winter and bring them back over to the house. This way we can work with them and ride the during the summer. Well these lovely horses were out in a HUGE field. I would have to say well over 300 acres. So once we found them, (along with 5 others that we weren't after) we had to catch them. Yeah because that's easy!! And running after 3 horses is ALWAYS successful!! Anyway in the process of 'chasing' the horses I fell in an irrigation ditch and was SOAKED head to foot and covered in mud. I should mention this happened at the beginning of the roundup. It took us 3 hours to corner, catch and load 3 horses. We also had help from our friend (2 of the horses are his), his son and a great old timer from Manila who had the other 5 horses we rounded up. So besides the mud, wet oh and HORRIFIC sun burn I got it was a nice afternoon. But I'm glad they are here and we don't have to chase them anymore. I hope.

Happy Birthday Mom!! Oh and the play is DONE!!

Well, we made it through the play and had favorable reviews!! I'm very tired but glad we pulled it off. I was very happy to have my parents and brother come up to see the play. Friday was also my mom's birthday so after the play we had angel food cake and strawberries, sang a HORRIBLE rendition of "Happy Birthday" (as per tradtition) and opened presents. All in all it was and nice evening.

Here we see what's soo great about nice weather FINALLY! Dani is a good "helper"

This is a picture of Ben and Dani making a pigeon coop out of....ready for it.....and old OUT HOUSE !! No lie there was still a toilet paper roll holder thing in it!!! EWWW!!! But it's good for pigeons I guess.

A school play...

So I've been working on the school play for 3 months now. It's next Friday and I think it's going to be great. We still have some work to do but compared to last year's fiasco (cancelling the week of) this is going fabulously. We had a 7 hour practice yesterday and actually got lot done. We filmed a run through and then watched it to show the cast how they looked and what we needed to work on. It seemed to be the jolt they needed to scare them serious. We have 3 rehearsals left and then the SHOW!!! I'll be so glad when it's done. My brain can't handle anymore play issues. But when it's done there will only be one more week of school!! This has been a long hard year and I'm ready for a summer of fun!!!!

K/1 Pet show

On Friday the Kindergarten and 1st grade class had a pet show. Each student who wanted to could bring a pet from home, show the pet and then get their picture with their pet. Seeing as how we have 2 kids in that class we needed to bring 2 pets. I should clarify, BEN had to bring 2 pets. I was teaching all day and couldn't be home to help get 2 pets to and from the show. Ben also had Dani to haul back and forth. So we've been thinking the last few days which of our MANY MANY animals could the kids show. Friday morning came and the kids and I left for school, still with no animal decisions. Around 11AM I got a worried call from Jordynn she was worried that Ben would forget to bring her a pet. I assured her he would NOT forget. I then called Ben to remind him to bring something. The biggest issue was how to get animals to the school. The donkeys and sheep are too big for the suburban and too small for a horse trailer. So I went over to the pet show during my lunch to see what Ben brought. Here's what I saw!!!

Isn't he CUTE!!! This is a bum lamb from some friends of our that needed a home. His mom wasn't feeding him and he's just 5 days old. So Ben brought him and then Flash our Lab Puppy. So each kid got to bring a pet. And it was sooo fun to see all the other pets. Most kids brought dogs but there was also a frog, our lamb and 2 baby calves. Only in Manila. Now we just need to name this little guy!!!
