Christmas time gets VERY busy - duh like you don't know that!! Anyway here's our week in pictures -

Here's the line we waited a little while -
The primary sang - and yes that's the WHOLE primary!! The Ward party was fun until I realized I had eaten some mushrooms and then had stomach craps so bad I started to cry at the party and Ben had to take me home - FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Thurs. night was the Elem. School program and 6th grade band concert. This is the band and they did pretty well - I was no so happy about the picture of my butt - Ben's comment is "that's the only side we see when you conduct!!" YEAH!!! Sorry for the picture. The next 2 are Michaela and Jordynn singing - All the classes had to wear different colors. Zach had orange and I sent him to his room to get ready - I told him to put on church pants, church shoes and his orange shirt. Well he came out with his HALLOWEEN shirt on and it lights up. I thought that was brilliant and let him wear it to the concert!! HA HA HA

At the end of the show Santa showed up and this year Jordynn DIDN'T run away (see last year's post at this same time) and they all did well - well except for Dani as you can see.

So that's our busy week - it's now Friday - Ben is gone for a basketball trip and I have to get us all packed and the car loaded for our trip to Vegas. I'm picking up Ben tomorrow in SLC and then we head our Sunday morning. It'll be soooo fun!! So have a great Christmas and I'll post again from VEGAS BABY!!!!!

Yesterday I got to go with the HS art classes to the Art Institute at Thanksgiving Point. There was about 17 kids and they got to go make glass flowers and learn about stained glass windows. The man who does the windows is BRILLIANT!!! He does glass for many of the Temples and he's working on a stained glass wall of the history of the world!! It was very cool to see the process and how detailed it has to be. Then the kids got to make their own glass flowers out of what ever colors they wanted. They got to shape the red hot glass and pull it into the shape. It was very cool and I even got to do it. I'm excited to see the finished product. They flowers had to cure for 24 hours so they're being shipped to us today!!!

If you look close you can see the flower hanging upside down to cool a little before it goes into the oven to cure.

1. What time do you wake up?
Well let's but it this way it's 6:38 Am on a Sunday morning and I don't have to be up this early. And I've been up since 5:54AM - So I'd say pretty early
2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed?
7:00 - 7:30 PM and then they can read until 8. I'm up so early because my kids are up so early so at some point during the day I need NO KID time, since mornings aren't happening it's night time.
3. How long have you been a mommy?
Well I got pregnant October of 1998 and Michalea was born June of 1999 - so that's ummmm 10 years, and 2 months. My sister had it down to the day, I'm NOT that good.
4. How old were you when you became a mommy?
Michaela was born on my 21st birthday!!!
5. What is your favorite chore?
Probably vacuuming because there is no way to vacuum unless everything is picked up. It's the icing on the cake.
6. What is your favorite meal to cook?
I REALLY don't like to cook at all. It seems daunting and redundant and boring. I do like to bake but that's probably because I like junk food.
7. What meal do you cook most often?
Probably tacos. I know how dumb but we like them and they are quick and easy
8. What are 5 things about being a mom that make you smile?
1. Dani being the cute youngest she is
2. Zach's sense of humor
3. Jordynn loving to color and draw and always making a picture for me
4. Michaela getting older and more independent and easier to talk to
5. When all my kids are playing together and being good
9. If you could take your kids anywhere, where would it be?
Well I think anytime we get to go all of us together is a real treat. Ben so rarely gets to come anywhere with us, it's fun to just be together.
10. When was the last time you went out without your kids?
UMMMMMMM??????????? I think home making last Thursday.
11. What was your most heartbreaking moment as a mommy?
Having miscarriages is REALLY hard but anytime something happens to my kids I don't do well Michaela had to have surgery at 18mon. and that was hard and when Jordynn broke her wrist that was hard. I have a firm belief that kids shouldn't be sick or hurt. They should be kids and enjoy that part of life care free.
12. When was the last time you told your kids you love them?
Last night when they went to bed.
13. When was the last time you were told, "I love you."
When I left for work on Friday Dani told be she loved me!!!

The boy babysitter.....

Last night was the School District Christmas Party. It also happened to be the Young Women's Christmas party at Church. Well that meant that there were NO babysitters in the town of Manila. I was telling my dilemma to my friend Vicki and she suggested her son. Now I have 3 daughters and I thought that would make them a little uncomfortable. But the only way for Ben and I to go to the party was Jared. So I said sure and Jared headed over. Zach was SOOOOOO very very excited to have a boy come over. And I thought it was about time he got a boy to hang out with. So Ben and I headed off with our friends the Gonders. When I got home the house was still standing and 3 of the 4 kids were in bed. Jared had done a GREAT job ( I knew he would). I heard from his mom that they had had a talent show and did singing and dancing. They also played games and generally had fun!!! So thanks Jared you did a great job and my kids LOVED you!!!!! I'll be calling again!

Finally!!

We finally got the tree decorated for FHE last night. It was of course a zoo and we had lots of little helpers. Ben got a hold of the camera and these are the pictures that resulted. I hope all you readers remember that this is the world's LARGEST tree. So the top 4 feet or so aren't even decorated. So I threw an ornament up there and it hooked itself on!!! It was very cool!! So that was my contribution to the tree decorating. We only have 2 weeks with the tree then we head to Vegas for the Christmas festivities!!! It should be fun!!! I'm looking forward to warmer weather. We had 4 inches of snow last night and it was a bit chilly this morning. But winter was bound to come eventually. There's really no escaping it living in NORTHERN Utah. Sigh!!!

Freedom!!!!!!

On Friday Jordynn got her cast off!! She was so excited and we were soooo ready for her to have use of her arm again. She wasn't a fan of the loud saw and she was worried that the Dr. would cut her. But it all went well and she is free. She spent the hour after she got her cast off just moving it around saying how weird it felt. And I don't blame her. I've never broken anything (knock on wood) but I imagine it isn't fun. So the Wolford family has survived their first broken bone and hopefully the last. Although I have Zach whose current favorite activity is JUMPING from about 8 stairs up to see if he can land without DYING!!! I feel a trip to the emergency room coming on!!!.

Holiday shopping

Well I spent most of the morning online shopping. While this is WAY better than braving the crowds and people....it's still a chore. Store after store, comparing prices and then committing to buy until I see the shipping!!! I HATE how much it costs to ship. I know it's probably cheaper than driving and I can get things online I can't get other places. But still sometimes shipping is quite a bit. I'm almost done and I'll be glad when I'm all the way done and I hate how shopping makes me crazy during the time of year that should be happy and cheerful. Here's the good news. As soon as Christmas is done it's Jordynn's birthday!!!! YEAH MORE SHOPPING!!!!!
