Yet another moving update.....

I know you've been on the edge of your seat to see the next installment of....THE WOLFORDS ARE MOVING!!!!! In this episode we'll see Ben painting the ENTIRE house. Why did we paint the whole house? Well because our kids think walls are for art. So we had to paint. The cool thing is we used our new air compressor and a spray gun to paint most of the walls. It went REALLY fast!! But as always there was a glitch in our happy painting...I bought the wrong color. It is one shade too dark. So we thought we'd just get to spot paint where the kids have drawn. NOPE, we had to paint all the walls all the way. But that' o.k. we're done, so now it's on to cleaning the carpets.

Packing and moving SUCKS!!!!

So here's the deal, we're moving this week and well it SUCKS! It's just me and Ben and that equals lots of sweat, and swearing. First we have a ton of CRAP!! This is even after we went to the dump this morning with a horse trailer FULL of crap we don't need and didn't want to move. After the dump we took the 4 horse trailer FULL of furniture to where we're storing our big stuff. Then we came home and filled the same trailer FULL (I think caps makes my point) of boxes and I mean FULL. Then we (again this is Ben and I) took the trailer somewhere else where we're storing our boxes. NOT FUN. So after I threw up thanks to the heat, now we're eating frozen pizza on the floor (I cooked it first) because we threw our table away. I look forward to another day of this tomorrow. The horse trailer not even close to full- we filled it up

Now you may ask, "why don't you have any help?" Good question and the answer is it's fair week. For those of you who don't know this is the BIGGEST and BUSIEST week of the summer. All kids ages 8-18 are gone to WY to sell their steer, pigs, sheep and goats. What this also means is all the parents of said kids are also gone. So we move alone. It's o.k. I'm incredibly buff. Well at least Ben is.

Side note; Ben was called out on some abandoned kittens and well, they're here with us until we figure out what to do with them. As you can see they're settling right in. (there's 2 of them) This one Jordynn has named Tiffany. HA HA HA!!!!

Tonight was the Hanna Montana concert on Disney in 3-D. I had got the kids glasses at Wal-Mart and tonight was THE NIGHT!!!! Well there was a snag in the plan, the kids had lost their TV privileges 2 weeks ago. They wouldn't keep their room picked up, and would fight about whose turn it was to pick up. So we took the TV away. When that happened Michaela laid on the floor and sobbed about how she was going to miss the "biggest concert of the year". Well I couldn't take it anymore. I'm trying to pack, it's raining, kids are bugging me.....I caved and gave them their TV back.

So here they are watching THE SHOW!!!

Ben wanted to see what all the fuss was about so he tried the glasses too!! Very funny.

How our 24th ended......

Well after the raccoon adventure we had the primary parade to look forward to. Basically the kids come up the road from the city offices to the park on their bikes, in a wagon or even a hand cart. It takes about 10 minutes but it's cute. Then we had a ward dinner at the park and the kids got to run around and play. It was a fun evening. Now we're back to packing. I hate packing. But it looks like we might be getting into our house by the end of SEPTEMBER. Yep I said September. But hey at least it looks like a light at the end of the tunnel (I hope).

How our 24th started.....

Ben got a call about a racoon and her 4 babies right outside the front door to the Villa Restaurant. The babies were chasing people and the Villa didn't think that was good for business. Anyway he had to look around to find them. And in the end all he found was 2 babies and no mamma or other 2 babies. But it was fun to watch him climb all over the roof and going in a hole he's pretty sure they're hiding in.

Ewwwww Gross Part 2!!!!!

Well Ben was brave enough to try the hamburger marshmallow gross thing. He was only able to take a few bites before he was done. He had a hard time convincing Zach to try a little. Zach was confused becasue it looked like a hamburger but smelled like strawberries.

But I think the concensus at least from Ben is, tooooo sweet.

It's just so wierd, it looks like a cheese burger, it's even the size of one from McDonalds, but it was fruity smelling. Needless to say I did NOT try it.

Ewwwww Gross!!!!!

I saw these at our little market here in Manila and thought these are so disgusting I have to buy them and tell the world about them. Or at least the people that read this blog. Anyway, these are made COMPLETELY out of marshmallows. I know GROSS!!! And these are big, and, well gross. My kids think these are so cool and think they'll taste great. Here's an example of why these are gross. This is the pizza slice and it STRAWBERRY flavored. Plus this thing is 6.5 inches LONG. Feel free to say ewwwww!!!

The hamburger is 4 inches thick and the ice cream cone is 5 inches tall and 2 inches thick!!!!

So I'm not sure what to do with these but I don't think in good conscience I can let my kids eat these. I'm pretty sure I can put them with my food storage and in 50 years AFTER and nuclear bomb they would still be good to go.

Again may I say EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

Manila Rodeo Fun and Games

We went to the Manila Rodeo last night. This was the adult rodeo and it's once a year. It was fun. Jordynn's friend who was a runner up in the princess contest came to see if she could come play and this is what I found when I went to look for her....

This is a group of 1st graders hanging out at a rodeo. Very cool!!!! But it was fun to see Jordynn with all her friends. She doesn't get to see them very often. While the 1st graders were playing a cowboy got hurt during the bucking bronco event. He dislocated his hip. What's funny was it took them 15 min. in the ambulance just to get his cowboy gear off to assess the situation. He's fine now.

Here's Micheala (she the last one in the row in a pink shirt) she got to compete in the shoe race. It was fun to watch.

This is one of the bulls they used for the bull riding event. Only one cowboy rodeo the 8 seconds required for the second round tonight. So it should be a short event tonight.

Over all it was fun, most everyone from town was there and it was fun to see them all and talk. I'm not sure if we're going again tonight. It's pretty much the same as last night.

Joss Whedon does it again

For those of you who don't know and probably don't care I'm a BIG fan of Joss Whedon. He's the man behind "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" "Angel" "Firefly" and one of the writers of "Toy Story"

Well here he is with this VERY good and funny short movie. It's only about 45 min. long and is being released in 3 Acts. Act I and II had already been released and Act III is being released Saturday. You can download episodes from i-tunes or Google "Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blogg" and see episodes on line until July 20. After that you'll have to use i-tunes. I just think he's (Whedon) is quite brilliant and smart and funny.

It stars Doogie Howser AKA Neil Patrick Harris and he does a great job singing. It's just a fun, cute little movie that made my day.

Housing Updates

So here's the deal
1. We still have to move (we think)
2. We DON'T have to be out by July 21 (original plan) we can stay 'til the end of the month and maybe longer
3. The teacher that was moving into our house (Aug. 1) isn't coming to Manila to teach
4. The house we want to live in is still currently inhabited by the people who were
supposed to move out July 31. They don't seem to want to leave EVER
5. SO eventually when we have to move we still don't have anywhere to go to
So that's were we are as of today but who knows what it will look like tomorrow. Tomorrow we talk to the superintendent and see what his plans for the house are and if he'll need it for a full time teacher any time soon.

I have to say that I LOVE not having a clue what's going on in my own life. But I still believe it will all work out. So we wait. Oh and we wait. Then after that we'll wait some more.

A very basic update

We've been out of control busy since July started. So here's what's been going on...

Zach turned 5 on the 5th of July - so here's his cake and all his presents. He got a cool DVD that was Spider Man and through the whole cartoon (27 min) whenever Spider Man took off his mask...it was ZACH'S FACE!! He thought that was the COOLEST. I video taped him watching it for the first time. Then when it got dark we did fireworks. We tried to do them the 4th but I couldn't find any matches. Ben wasn't able to be there for Zach's birthday so we did one more gift (the big one) with Zach on the 6th. He got a cross bow thing that shoots darts. He's been hunting wild animals ever since.

We went camping Monday - Tuesday this week. It was nice after the INSANE holiday weekend. It was nice and cool. And we enjoyed roasting marshmallows with the kids for the first time. All was going well until the bear. Yep you read correctly we had a bear pretty close by and he didn't sound happy. So we put out the fire and went to bed a little sooner than we would have liked.

We had a great time 4-wheeling with the kids and thanks to Ben's parents we got to use their 4-wheelers and we all got to go together. Ben took the 3 youngest with him, and I took Michaela. See was ALWAYS asking to drive. So usually on the way back to camp Ben and I would switch and he would ride with Michaela and let her drive. There was a snake on the road incident (I DO NOT LIKE SNAKES) and after my screaming and crying we got going again and had a fun time.

Now we're back in Manila and getting ready to move. And that's NOT going well. We don't have a place to move to because the people who live there won't leave. But we have no choice there are people coming to this house and we have to be out. But I have faith it will all work out in the end. It just isn't going as smoothly as I would like.
