Holy Long Meeting Bat Man...

Last night I went to a School Board meeting. Well that sounds all normal and stuff. Well it started at 6pm and I got home at 11:30pm. Yep....11:30pm it was an important meeting about an addition to the high school where I teach and a classroom I would be getting...but boy am I paying for it this morning!!

Happy Birthday BEN!!!!

January is a very busy month for this family!!! Yesterday was Ben's birthday!! Not only was it his birthday is was his 35th!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! So we had cheese cake and presents and then played some new rock band games with the kids. I hope he had a good day and I'm so glad to have him and love him so much, even if he is getting older :)

What a special weekend!!!

This past weekend we all went to Salt Lake for Jordynn's Baptism. It was a wonderful experience. We were so lucky to have so much family there with us. I was especially glad to have my Nana there from Texas!!! It was a great morning and weekend with family.





As we went through the weekend I was so happy to be around all the family. Family is all that matters and no matter what crap is going on, when you have your family you can get through ANYTHING!!!



And what's better that building a snowman with Grandpa!!

A Big Week

This past week we had lots of fun.

There was playing with puppies - PLEASE REMEMBER YOU WANT ONE!!!



There was a VERY frosty COLD morning



And Jordynn turned 8!!! What a big girls she is. She's looking forward to getting baptised at the end of this month. All in all a fun week.

Adventures

So as I hope everyone knows we have 8 puppies at our house!!! Please remember to call me if you want a puppy. By the way, you KNOW you want a puppy.... Anyway my kids LOVE to play with the puppies. And this is a good thing because any house these puppies go to they will have NO PROBLEM with kids. Anyway when the 4 year old holds a puppy 24/7 something was bound to happen. Don't worry it's nothing bad but it's also not good....



The poor puppy got GUM stuck to his leg. Yep GUM!! I knew Dani had it but I ave no idea how it got from her mouth to the puppies leg!! So this poor 4 week old puppy had to have a minor hair cut. So if anyone wants this puppy she is just a little uneven in the fur for the time being.

We've (and I mean Ben and the kids) been having fun in the snow. We have a hill in the field in front of the house and the kids have enjoyed sledding down it. I prefer to be the one taking the pictures from INSIDE the house!!!

A look back and forward

So it's 2010 and it has been for 2 days now. It doesn't feel so different from 2009. This past year has been one of staying put for us. We haven't moved, changed jobs, or rearranged furniture. It's been nice to just stay. Even though we never know what a new year will bring I'm glad I can look at this past year with some sense of normalcy. Granted we've had our ups and downs, trials and rewards, love and loss. But all in all 2009 was good to us. We learned a lot and gained alot. Gained 2 horses, 2 goats, chickens, pigeons, and puppies (does anyone want a puppy?) We did 4H for the first time this year. I'm not sure how that went but it was a good experience for Michaela.
This year we look forward to a lot of new things. Jordynn will be baptized soon. Dani will go to Kindergarten this fall. Michaela will be in 6th grade this fall which means she can do Junior High sports...ummmm yeah. Ben will be 35 this year that seems like a big deal to me. And as always we'll evaluate where we are and what we do and figure out if it's still working for our family. I'm grateful that Ben and I are always talking about our life, kids and jobs. If opportunities come up we discuss and decide if it's good for our family. All in all I think 2010 will bring new adventures and decisions but I know that if we make those decisions with the help of the Lord and listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost we'll be all right.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I hope all of you had a safe, fun happy new year!! Let me tell you what I did this New Year's Eve....ready???? Wait for it...wait for it.....WENT TO BED BY 10:30pm!! I know I'm a party animal but let me justify myself if I may.
1. I live in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. I'm not exaggerating, literally no where. I live in a town of 250 residents and I'm an HOUR from any real town, store, movie theatre, mall etc.
2. I'm OLD, true I'm 31 but still I feel old. I chase 4 kids 24/7 and teach kids five days a week. And let me elaborate that I teach JUNIOR HIGH and HIGH SCHOOL kids. See why I feel old.
3. I'm tired. I could have tied this in with #2 but I want as many excuses for being a wuss as I can.
4. I decided long ago that the new year comes whether I'm awake or not. So I get a good nights sleep, wake and wallah....2010!!! Then I don't spend all New Year's Day hating life and my children because I'm so tired.

So say what you want but I'm happy I got some sleep ( I was up form 3-5am because I didn't feel well). And hey I can function and NO HANG OVER be it from alcohol (I don't drink) or lack of sleep. Win Win

I would like to throw in here that I would have LOVED to stayed up if I was at a party but when it's just me and the hubby, (there is no WAY I was letting my 4 kids stay up) I'd really rather sleep....
