Manila has a parade for Labor day and for such a small town they do a great job. The kids love it and get lots of candy and it's fun to see all the different "floats" The baseball team was in the parade and so was Smokey the Bear. Ben was doing traffic control and it's a good thing he did. An antique car in the parade lost it's brakes and Ben had to chase it down the road and get it off into a parking lot before it hurt anyone. It ended safely but Ben sure had an adventure.
Then at night my friend Any, her kids and me and my kids went down to the Marina to watch a boat light show (the boats decorate with light then have a parade) and then watched fireworks. Last year the kids and I were on the boat patrolling with Ben and it was a little more adventure than I would like so we opted out this year. But the new principal and Amy's husband thought the boat sounded like fun so he went with Ben. Everyone had a good time.
